MODELLED ON SPEED
Thousands flock to STP's BLOODHOUND display
The adrenaline-charged Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 3-5) was the appropriate stage for Richard Noble's team to reveal a dramatic full-scale model of BLOODHOUND SSC which, next year, begins its mission to establish the1,000mph World Land Speed Record for the British team.
Enthusiasts flocked in their droves to the STP-hosted BLOODHOUND SSC centre stage display - in co-operation with Goodwood - to catch a glimpse of the mighty model, and mingle with key team members. These included team leader, Richard Noble, Engineering Director John Piper, and Andy Green, who hopes to extend his existing World Land Speed Record by a staggering margin of 41% when he pilots BLOODHOUND SSC in the run for the ultimate 1,000mph record in 2011.
No stranger to record-breaking, STP - the world's leading fuel additives brand - gained its fame in the ultimate speed arena of Bonneville, USA fifty years ago, latterly claiming the World Land Speed Record with Art Arfons at 576mph, in 1965. Whilst land speed record technology has moved on apace since Arfons triumph, BLOODHOUND SSC will use regular STP fuel additives during the record bids, the same as those available in the High Street and forecourt shops across Britain to aid optimum engine efficiency.
